Well we are almost at the end of our most successful season ever (not exactly hard considering last year!) and what a season it’s been…. Over 90 goals scored and at the moment 14 wins. We still have 3 games to go and that means another 3 wins, we can still get promotion but it is really down to you guys now. It will be a shame if we blow it now as a result of us not giving it 100% rather than being beaten by better teams. Sunday was a great example of what we can do and on another day we would have won, we were the better side for long periods and all of us on the side were very proud of your performance. We have a quick chance to put the record straight when we play Sandhurst at home on Sunday week, and we will show them then who is the best team in the league.
This Sunday we have an 11am kick-off away to Liphook Eagles which means we will need to leave the Snow Goose at 9.30 and we will be playing in our Red kits.
As you may be aware Symon Field, Steven’s Dad, has designed a website for us, it can be found at WWW.Farnboroughinvincibles.co.uk. We need to start populating this site and using it as our main point of contact. I’d encourage you all to join the site and use the forum feature to discuss the team, how we played, what we should do more of, how great Bryce’s hair is, how great Bryces goal Wasn’t!! Log on and use it, it’s there for you and the more we use it the better it will get.
As I’ve mentioned we have 3 games to go which means we need to start thinking about End of Season awards again. The Awards night is provisionally booked for the 30th June from 7pm until 11pm and will be held in the Directors Lounge at Farnborough Town FC. There are going to be a few awards being dished out on that night, some decided by you, some decided by the Supporters (we do have some!), some decided by our coaching team (again.. we do have one!) and some decided by individual performances throughout the season. The awards will be for:-
We should probably have an award for ‘the most argumentative player of the year’ but we all know it would go to the same person who would win ‘the bottom injury of the year’ and ‘the best hair flick during a match’ awards.
I have attached a voting form for You / Supporters to complete and this will need to be handed into me before / at our last game of the season. Please remember not to vote for yourself or for your Parents to vote for you.
You know I don’t like asking for money but attached to this note is a summary of what each of you will owe come the end of the season. Please get the money in, especially those of you who haven’t paid for some time, I do try to keep the cost low but we do have to pay for such things as the Astro training, Sunday pitches, Referees, footballs and those superb awards.
I will talk to you all individually about next season and try to find out if you are interested in signing on again. The signs for next year are so promising, we have a strong skillful team that is going to get better and will be in contention for the title whether it is in Division 3 or Division 2 next year.
Not much left to say other than how proud we have all been of your efforts this year, keep it up…. You know we will keep shouting at you no matter how well you do!
So don’t forget, nomination forms in, money owed in and Sunday… Red kits and meet at the Snow Goose at 9.30.
One last thing… If you know of anyone who maybe interested in sponsoring us for next season then please let me know. The sponsor will get their logo on our new shirts and free advertising on the best web site ever. We have been very lucky in getting £300 last year from IPSL (thank’s Nick’s mum), £100 from Darren for running the Marathon and £200 this year from CSC plus those fantastic water bottles!
